Title: Hard Drive Suspension Assembly Component Inspector Manual

Software Used: Multi-book Framemaker document. Photgraphs acquired with digital camera. Paintshop Pro used to capture and edit graphics. Adobe Acrobat used to prepare document for electronic display and for commercial printing. This document is provided to customers in both electronic and hard copy formats.

Project Description: This sample is the companion manual to the main user guide for a specialized machine vision system. I developed the Framemaker template used for both publications. this sample tells users how to work with the Inspector component of the system, which is designed to inspect a specific type of component manufactured by the customer.

This manual describes and illustrates the concepts behind specific types of inspection measurements. It also provides detailed step-by-step procedures for running the software and configuring inspections at the customer's job site.

Title: Accounting Business Process Guide

Software Used: MS Word with imported Visio flowcharts.

Project Description: This document contains a series of flow charts (created in Visio and imported into MS Word) illustrating a set of business processes used by an Accounting department as sales orders are received and processed.

The information for the flow charts was gathered through face-to-face interviews with Accounting personnel, and the document underwent multiple review and test processes before being released. Distributed company-wide in hard copy and via the corporate intranet.

The document served two major purposes at my client's site:1) Testing whether new accounting software followed actual accounting processes correctly; 2) Used as training material for Accounting employees.

Title: PC Camera Quick Reference Field Guide

Software Used: Designed and written in Pagemaker.

Project Description: This Quick Reference booklet is the only printed set of instructions provided to users of a detachable PC camera. When printed, folded and cut, finished document size is just 2 1/4 x 4 inches, yet this handy guide provides all instructions necessary to use the camera right out of the box.

Title: PC Camera Reference Guide

Software Used: Created with RoboHELP and provided to customers as an electronic hyperlink document. The Reference Guide is placed on the user's PC when the camera sofware is installed.

Project Description: This electronic document is meant to be viewed online, although PC camera owners can print hard copies of each "page" if they wish. The Reference Guide is installed on the user's PC along with the camera software, and can be easily accessed when the software is running.

Title: Eckerdt Berry Farm Brochure

Software Used: Designed and written in Pagemaker.

Project Description: I created this sales and marketing brochure for the Colorado berry farm where I lived and worked for 8 months in 2002. Designed with economy in mind, this is a single sheet, double-sided publication designed to be printed with one-color raised ink on a colored card stock.

With a finished page size of 4 x 9 inches, the brochure was designed to fit in the standard "local attractions" slots at area motels and tourist offices. With many kind offers from area businesses to display our brochure, this proved a very effective way of advertising our farm produce in Cortez.

Title: Markware Online Sample Labels Software Used: Written in MS Word and compiled with RoboHELP. Project: Our documentation team decided to incorporate a set of sample labels into the online help for a software-driven label and sign maker. This separately compiled online piece contains that set of labels which I conceived, designed, and wrote descriptive text for.
